Ad Specs
« on: September 03, 2009, 12:20:23 PM »
Currently there are 2 locations for your banner ad to be displayed.

The first is the top area. This is right below the forum menu buttons. Ads place in this area need to be 728x90 and can be jpg, gif (animated or not), png or flash (flash must have "clickTAG" activated to track statistics.

The second area is at the bottom of the forum. Ads placed in this area need to be 728x90 and can be jpg, gif (animated or not), png or flash.

Banner Ads in the top or at the bottom will display on every page with a few exceptions. Banner ads will be in equal rotation.

Currently ad rates for any one placement location are $20.00 a month if paid monthly or $18.00 a month if paid quarterly.

Ads should target the forum traffic interest for maximum ROI. Ads should link to pages directly related to the product or service you are advertising. Do not make click-tru's look for the info. The forum currently gets around 1700 to 1900 people visiting every month with page views closing in on 100k per month. While we cannot guaranty your ad campaign will be a success, you can be assured your ad will get seen.

If you want to know what the forum traffic stats are currently, just click on the quantified publisher image at the bottom of the forum:

Unlike a lot of sites, we do not hide our traffic stats be they good or bad.

You should be able to upload your ad to the ad server once you have signed up.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Hi Preston!
I've uploaded several .swf banners files from the CMS and noticed that near the URL box it says
"You can track "some" clicks with rich-media ads.. " What exactly does that mean? Are the .swf or flash banners trackable? I've added the URL link inside the flash banners and also in the CMS. The banner links work correctly but I want to make sure that the clicks are trackable.

Thanks
Scot

Scot, rich media ads are basically ads from sources like google ads and do not pertain to ads you would upload.

On flash ads, do not embed the url into the flash. Embed a "ClickTag" attribute in the flash and then put the url in the "Web Site Url" field for each ad in the ad management system.

If you do not know how to embed the ClickTag attribute then email me the flash scene components and I will rebuild the flash for you with the ClickTag attribute.

Hi Preston!
Can you please describe where to add the "ClickTag" in my flash banner. I'm familiar with flash, I'm not sure what you mean and where the "ClickTag" attribute should go. Should it go into a frame script?

Thanks
Scot

It depends on which program you use to create the flash. If you are using Adobe Flash this may help:

The Flash banner creator I use just has a tic box to turn it on.

Some flash creation programs do not give you the option of the clickTag attribute.
