Well the old woman in me pulled the trigger on the new laptop
« on: December 01, 2011, 03:28:25 PM »
I got the 17" Toshiba AMD quadcore with 6ig and the other bells and whistles.

To me anyway...this baby is fast.

I have a  MKTING campaign coming soon among a few other things.

How much? I have been thinking of upgrading my 2 year old Gateway. The processor is slow on it and been wanting to get an I5 or I7 processor.

On line or store price match for $559.

Mine is from Office Depot.

I have seen this machine all the way up to 900 retail.

Not the newest but as fast as a good strong  i5 or starter i7 with more ram add an accelerator on the quads.

Its fast.

It says 599 now but last night it was 559

I have been using Windows 7 for quite some time no and I actually like it a lot. Way more stable than XP. About the only thing I do not like about it is it has a habit of clicking thru one window to the one under it.

I have been putting off buying a laptop for years.

Last month I was in to buy a few flash drives as they were on sale 3 for $12 or something like that. Cruised by the laptops as I always do. Been looking at Toshiba machines. Like the reviews. Been wanting the 17"  but was looking at the 15" because of price at $499. Then the sales man came up and said have you seen the 17". I said it was too much. He said did I notice that the 17" was on sale for 3 days. The same price as the 15". The 17" was more machine with dual processors, not just more screen.

Well I bought the 17" after about one minute of consideration. Paid another $35 to have all the trail programs and sales ads removed. The techie said that stuff takes up 40% of ram so the machine should run lots faster.

So watch for sales. This was at Office Max but this was a Toshiba authorized sale. It seems to be moving through the various chain stores.

All my old programs run except one. I could up grade to Windows 7 pro. But I have chosen to learn another program which I have but haven't used much. I can bring stuff home and use my old program here should I want to use that old reliable program and then move stuff over via thumb drive.
