Inks.
« on: December 11, 2011, 01:07:59 AM »
The bottom line is if you cannot get a GCC from an ink manufacture then you should not be using their ink. A MSDS is not the same as a GCC and cannot be used as a document to show compliance with the CPSIA. If an ink company refuses to supply you with a GCC then that means they are not having their inks tested. Using ink from a manufacture the does not supply a GCC to you not only opens you up to possible litigation but also the ink manufacture unless the ink manufacture specifically labels their inks as "Not for use on items intended for children 12 years of age or younger". And if they had that on the ink bucket you would not be using their ink in the first place.

Here is what a GCC is supposed to look like.

 Brannon

I can not get that file to open?

Don't know if it is on my end or not.

If you have a true pdf use the pdf button and put it in the post.

That is good to have Brannon. Thanks for posting it.

This is the kind of documents we need from the ink manufactures. Do not put ink on a youth shirt without one of these in your files.

For me personally I only use ink from manufactures that have had it tested and certified as meeting the requirements of the law. If you have certified inks for youth and then just use anything for adult shirts you run the risk of cross contamination so it is best to only use inks that you can get certificates like these.

I just got off the phone with Triangle Inks.  They have their cert letter and I've asked for a copy to be faxed to me.  I'll post it here when I receive it.
Have a great day! :)
