Not a 100 bucks but I have one of these and it survived 4 feet of saltwater storm surge (and I did not even clean it afterward). It has been working for 3 years now...

I just bought one of these....
http://www.everypressurewasher.com/Cam-Spray-1500A-CAM1103.html

I had one before, lasted over 10 years before the wand went out, I didn't realize how great it was until I gave it to an employee and bought a cheaper one from Sam's. I am glad to have one of these suckers again. The cheap $100 work well, but not long usually. The better ones also clean faster and better. Do what I did and use the cheap ones until you can afford a good one.

How handy are you? You could build one from parts from Grainger. When my old one finally died, I bought a new pump and motor and rebuilt it myself. New, commercial units are industrial grade, and should last for 10's of thousands of screens. One caveat, you'll need to know a little about the proper nozzles and gallons per minute and motor size, but that stuff can be found, in fact, I'll bet Preston or Fred could lay that out for you. $100? you get what you pay for, most often anyway.

A lot will depend on how many screens you go through, but we're a small shop and only use about 12 screens a week on average. We bought 2 Karcher Model K 2.55 units when they were on sale a couple of years ago for $70 at Menards. We're still using the first one and it's doing just fine. Might just be luck, but we're happy with it.

Thanks we are small to, but we clean any where from 20 to 40 screens a week which I really don't think is that many is why a cheap washer would work for us I think. Preston I saw one like that you showed here...that might be to much for us plus I had a 300 dollar washer and that sucker died in about two years and I when back to my old 100 buck one. I want be getting another from Walmart thought maybe the one I got was a lemon, but I did like the rotating spray head though, for the time we used it, it clean very good.

I have been buying the $100 unit from home depot. I bought that 3 year extended warranty. Now I bring the washer back with my receipt and they give me a new one every time. It is a pain to have to go back to home depot all the time. I find that I will go through 2-4 before I find one that will last for 6 month. I still think the $24.99 was a good investment.
Good luck.

I've been using a $100 Home Depot one for the last 6 months.

I think I will try this one next:

I've still got the original Home Depot washer I bought about 6 years ago. Last year it started leaking so I stuck a bucket under it, then bought another one for about $70 that was a higher pressure model to boot. I figured the first one had gasket, o-ring or some other problem. Turns out it was just the hose connector had worked itself loose, although a quick check earlier didn't detect it. Sometimes the switch sticks on, so I just unplug it and use it that way 'til the switch sorts itself out. The second one I bought is still sitting on the shelf waiting for this one to shit the bed. The only problem with a gasoline run washer for me is the racket it would make at my shop. The leasing company is pretty strict about making a racket that the other tenants would be subjected to, and it's a mix of offices and warehouse space. For you guys without neighbors on the other side of a wall, the gas ones would probably be the best bet.
Shit. Just noticed that Preston's IS electric.

Karcher is the brand I got from Wal-mart and it seems to last about a year or so. I too got one that leaked really bad took it back and this one is now over a year old. The rotating head is what really turns my wheels. It will take the paint off a wall so you got to be careful how to clean the screens. I priced others but I figure for $10 or less a month this one works well. I also only want electric since I clean inside in a booth.

I haven't seen it said, so, never run a gas engine in your shop unless you have a thing for carbon monoxide :-[

Really, gas is a bad idea in a shop unless you can set it outside, but sometimes starting them is a pain after a while. I just like being able to press a button. For screens, anything over 2,000 psi is probably overkill. 1,000 is a little weak. But also gallons per minute is big as well. A lot of cheaper models have high PSI and low GPM, those clean worse than models with lower PSI and higher GPM.
