Another Weekend
« on: April 14, 2010, 01:21:45 PM »
First draft of the art for my next on-site event printing weekend after next.

The car is f-ing orange so lets pick another color to argue about.

Artwork was all done in Corel X4.

Screens will be 305, all at 60-lpi 22.5 degree. Will be printed with a white base all wet on wet.

That cyan in the car has a little green in it... (heehee)

...it looks real nice anyway; and you don't call yourself an artist. (and yes, I do know that cyan is already greenish)

What color is the shirt? DO you use a highlight white on something like this?

The shirt color shown in Gildan Sand or Port Authority Light Sand.

It will be printed on White, Ash, Sand, Light Pink and Light Blue shirts.

When printing on light color shirts with the white base there is no need for a highlight.

What is the halftone numbers you used on the top car. It looks washed out or too light and is not red any more.

Yes on the second question.

The reason it looks washed out is because it is a composite of the separations. The magenta is dialed down as it can be over powering if you do not watch out.

Here is is straight for Corel.

4 color process is actually fun and not that hard to do.

Is the old one DTG?

The purple car isn't popping. I like the look of the drawn cars over the look of the photo of the car.

I do not know if it is DTG or process. It is just one of the images they sent me last October when we were getting ready to do the November Fest for them. I totally agree on the car thing. Drawn car just look cooler.
