If you care to know. Screen printing will have a visually identifiable halftone pattern under a magnifying glass. DTG uses a much finer diffusion pattern of ink drops, which do not form an identifiable halftone pattern.

Like I said, all I have is the picture not the shirt. The image is so grainy that you cannot tell. If I had the shirt I would be able to tell even without a magnifying glass.

If it is DTG it was probably a poor quality graphic to start with, or the operator doesnt know how to adjust correctly to get the best pop. Our Brother would print that and look a ton better, thats also assuming the shirt is a DTG but was washed many times before the pic was taken.

Check out a book called "Control Without Confusion" by Joe Clarke. A great primer on 4CP, though it might be a bit dated since it came out 20 years ago, but it's quite in depth. Mark Coudray printed the samples in the book. You just have to pay a lot more attention to details, once you get used to it, it's easier because you'll be more familiar with it. Go for it!

Good film and a good exposure unit are essential. Vellum and a cheap piece of foam for compression isn't going to cut it.

I have great equipment just no sep program like QS. Workhorse 1000point for exposure unit just so you know. I like to think that I'm not a complete newbie.
