can koozie questions
« on: January 23, 2012, 12:58:53 PM »
i searched and found some good info, but still unsure of a few things regarding can koozies.

im looking at this place right now to get the koozies.   can anyone suggest any other koozie distributors?
http://www.kooziewarehouse.com/Blank_Collapsible_Can_Koozies_p/pc.htm

and what is a ballpark to charge for a $.99 koozie with 1 color print?

we dont plan on doing any puff so regular plastisol should work just fine right?

thanks!

Honestly my opinion is to outsource that kind of crap. Send it to the guys that do it for a living and make a little off the top as a bonus for doing nothing more than sending a few emails. Beats setting up a machine and running those yourself. Plus while the vendor is printing those making you money you can still make money printing shirts.

Unless you plan on offering very low quantities there is no need to even print the darn things yourself. I can buy then cheaper already printed in most cases.

As for puff ink, yes you will need to use puff in your ink if printing white on dark. Not much but just a little.

I'm with everyone else. Did three orders of koozies before Christmas.
Not worth doing yourself and if you do don't use regular plastisol Koozies are polyester or neoprene and will
bleed

so plastisol wont work on the neoprene koozies?  our plan was to order some koozies for this particular job and have extras left over.  then when we do jobs for a good customer, we can also burn a small 1 color version of their logo (on the same screen already being used) and print them some complimentary koozies to show our appreciation.  im not so sure the customer would appreciate koozies with our logo/info on them.  we figured they would be totally impressed if we hooked them up with koozies and their logo.

however if the ink is going to be a PITA then we may reconsider the whole thing.

thanks!

Regular plastisol will work. You just need to use low bleed if printing a light color on a dark koozie and you may need to add a small amount of puff to the ink, again when printing light colors on dark koozies.

If you are just going to do a one color to give them for appreciation I would just print dark ink on light colored koozies and then you will not need to worry about bleed or puff.

Do folks buy from other re-sellers like this rather than actual suppliers?....

The point is again,  why print them when I can get them already printed cheaper?

I'm with Preston. I'm paying  half a cent less for printed koozies  than you are for blank ones.
So why would you want to take the time to print them.

@Spencer if you want to print hand outs for your customers buy light colored ones and
print them with dark ink. There will be no dye migration problem then.

Sometimes printing stuff inhouse is alot better than outsource, if the customer wants more in a hurry and you have them or art change at the last minute.  Yep you can let someone else do them amake some cash for me it would be how many you need before I would fool with them.  If you need 25 your paiding a higher price and so on.
