Equipment & Current Project
« on: December 06, 2011, 04:55:03 PM »
Here is the equipment I have:

Exposure Unit:  RXP Exposure Unit 20x24 digital timer http://www.silkscreeningsupplies.com/product/RXP2024
Screen Printer Station:  4-color, 2 station  http://www.amazon.com/Dynamic-4-Color-Screen-Printer-2-Station/dp/B002YKMND6
Flash Dryer: 16x16 or 18x18 I am unsure about this exact unit, it looks like mine, but has no info on it http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/6003988-AA.shtml?lnav=tools.html

Printer: not the right kind, just an hp laser
transparencies: not the right kind, just a box of 3m ( I print two and tape them together to make them blacker)

Emulsion:  Diazo dual cure for now
Screen:  Wish I knew, the tube is unmarked ... it is white, probably 156
Shirt: Royal Blue 50/50 hoodie & tshirt

White Ink:  Union ink, UPLHT-1070  Diamond Bright White (Diamond Bright White is Union?s finest low-bleed white, formulated for excellent printing characteristics both with manual and automatic presses. Diamond Bright White flash cures quickly for high production speeds, and has outstanding low bleed qualities. Ideal for cotton/polyester blends that have a tendency to bleed into the ink. Excellent opacity on dark garments.)

Gold Ink: Union ink, UPADM-2048 Golden Yellow, Low bleed Maxopake

I will get a temp gun ordered...

I am planning on watching some tutorial videos, but thought it would be like this:

Print white, flash
cool down
Print gold, cure
next shirt

For the white you may need to print flash print on royal to acheive a bright white.

Here is a image of the shirt design ... simple, sportish ... the blue background is just for my visual.

What determines when you need to do an under base?

Underbase is done when printing on dark garments. Also done when a color needs to pop
per diem is latin for BEER MONEY
