How would you print this
« on: November 17, 2011, 11:31:17 AM »
This is gonna be a fairly large order of 600-1000pcs and I want to avoid flashing if at all possible. What do you guys think? I was thinking of using a white discharge over the whole design but the red/black because of the text being so thin would probably be difficult to line up. Give me your thoughts please.

There is no need to put the white under the red/black lettering. Just print the white where the white shows.

This one is pretty easy for you Gerry. Flashing should not slow you down. Print your base white, flash, red, flash if needed, highlight white for your grays. You have two flashes right for that machine? If not the red should be fine running it wet. The only thing you may want to play with is how bright you want that red on the silver shirt. Try the red on its own and if its good tape off the text on your base screen. Its a pretty small area. For the red shirt I would print black, base white, flash, highlight white. The time you will lose in slowing down your dryer for discharge is just not worth it. That new press you have should have rear micros so registering it should be cake.

Well you know me.

I would print the colors first and do a white low puff...no flash.

It would even be a cool effect on the foot.

Ugghh what am I thinking! I have been running black shirts for the past few jobs and I have black shirts on my mind! lol. Now that I slow down enough to look this is gonna be easy. This customers last order was for black shirts with red and white ink which I hated on my manual!

In my current shop I am only able to run 1 flash because of electrical restrictions. I hope within a year or so we will get into a much bigger shop with the enough electrical capacity.

How much puff do you add Johnny?

I use Union Plasti-puff additive.

For me I would go about 10% in a 158 screen hit it twice wet on wet to cover all the fabric holes in.

run at reg t temps and on the other end...you can even watch it in the dryer...it will rise up and then fall right on exit.

I would be after a textured white not a real puff, but it will make a nice opaque textured white.

In my current shop I am only able to run 1 flash because of electrical restrictions. I hope within a year or so we will get into a much bigger shop with the enough electrical capacity.

Ok, with one flash and one trip around the press.

Head 1 = White base
Head 2 = Flash
Head 3 = not used (cool down)
Head 4 = not used
Head 5 = Red/Black screen (Print red first and then color change to black) or use Head 4 for Red and Head 5 for Black.
Head 6 = Top white.

Into the dryer and in a few hours your done.
