I've never had a good experience with my purchases from them.
Maybe it's the shirt. Or the haircut.

You are missing my point. He started as a band member that decided to print their own shirts because paying someone like Shawn a couple of bucks to print them was too much and then turned that initial need to go cheap into a multi million dollar business.

One of the things I have noticed about Ryan is he uses gorilla marketing but in a nice way. The guy has put tons of information and videos on the web so he is going to get noticed but he does it in such a way that he does not piss anyone off. All the info is informative while being in your face at the same time. It seems to have worked to allow him to go from curing shirts in the kitchen oven to a 20+ million dollar business in 7 years.

Robert, how many times do I need to tell you that posting links to a login page will get you no where with Google.

Do a google search for mustangprinters.com and just see what comes up. ( Click here and I will show you )

Do you need me to get those websites going for you?

You are right.... His site is packed full of info and vids. We are now 7 months old, and have a long way to go, but from what I see being price competitive with them won?t be too much of a problem. We beat them on some items and they beat us some. Yes they offer free freight over $100.00 but some of our products are sooo much cheaper it makes up the difference easily (Free freight is just built into the price anyway  ;)). Our next step is rounding out our product line with Ink, Chemicals, and other odds and ends, but all of that will be in place by mid next year. After that we have 5.5 years to catch up. I?m not saying we will, or can, but I love a challenge. Your video has set a new bar for our company, and I thank you for that P!!

Good luck and I wish the the best.  On the free shipping thing. Yes it is alway built into the price no matter who is offering it but it is something about the word "free" (even though it is not) that gets people to buy.  You could put an item on sale and say "half price" and then later advertise it as "buy one, get one free". You will get 10 times more people ordering the "BOGO" and paying full price for one then you will on the half off offer. So you are doubling the order amount on each person and then getting 10 times more sales on top of that.

You called me out Preston!

Started out the same way as Ryan, dabbled in printing in HS in a primitive form (exacto knife and all)  came back to the screen printing idea many years later with a cheap speedball kit. Printed shirts for my band, then other bands wanted me to print their shirts yadda yadda a business formed. The difference is Ryan is clearly great at the business end of things and probably had rich parents to help him out and maybe a college degree I don't know...  I SUCK at business but I'm pretty good in the printing dept. At least I have realized my weaknesses even thought it took me awhile to figure that out lol. I have a weak link. I have located that weak link now I just need to figure out the right approach to fix it.

not so much stubborn just afraid to make too many changes and ruin my current  customer base. It took a good while to build up a customer base , pissing them off and starting over again would be starting from scratch. Slowly changing , getting in the new customer base that I want and slowly losing the old cheapos would be the best way I think it's just how do I make that happen?

That could mean upping my prices 3 or 5 bucks a shirt losing all of my band business and having to take on a second or third job until I have built a new customer base who are willing to pay the new prices.

Why not split the difference... Up your prices a buck or 2 a shirt while concentrating on other markets. Some customers will leave, but you may be surprised at how many will stay....?? In my previous sales job I was always afraid to tell a customer no... or raise prices... but in the end my actions were bad for business. Sometimes it is better to lose a few low margin customers, this frees up time to find the clientele that will actually let your business grow..!!! ;D
