« on: March 04, 2011, 09:01:17 AM »
I have a ball team wanting a five color print on a mesh jersey , you the type that has little holes in the front layer and a second layer behind it. I have printed 1 color but not multi colors, I do have a hold down but was wondering If anyone had any tricks. As of now I have told them NO Way.

I assume that these are not open at the bottom?

I have had to cut open the bottom seam and then sew it back after printing.

Be careful of the build up on the tables. With mesh type stuff I often use the shiny ads in the news paper and after build up just add another piece of paper. If it is alot of them from time to time you will have to pull the paper and start over.

This might be a good opportunity to maybe look at the Cad Color Air tech from Stahls. Made specifically for things like that.

If the jerseys are light color.

I'm looking for a matte finish stretchy cad color material for darks right now, even without the mesh hole quality. Solutions Opaque work great but are quite shiny.

I guess I should have asked that question... good thing it's Friday.

Have you looked at the Cad Color Epress Print ? I haven't used this yet, but they say it has a matte finish. Not too much other info.

FYI I print many different jerseys mesh and the large hole ones. The trick is to glue a pellon (thin) on your pallet and glue the hell out of the jersey, be sure to have plenty of outline and a good rule is to pre-heat the jersey before you put on your first color. Those babies will shrink when the flash first hits them. I can get about 6-8 jerseys before I have to change pellon. Works well for me just take your time because them thangs are expensive... to mess up.

Rmonks here is a quick fix that might help you in pinch...if you have square pallets or even one square pallet go to lowes, home Depot etc and buy some 1x1 wood strips cut them to fit around pallet nice and snug with one nail in each corner...now notch each corner so you can put a bunchy core around the whole thing (this will keep the bunchy core in place and also keep it snug)..oh you might want to put some tape on the wood so it will slide easily over the jersey.  If you need a drawing let me know I think I can show you a lot better than I typing it

When we use Transfer Express' CADPrintz, they give a sheet of transfer paper with them, lay it on the design after the initial pressing, repress, and the design is matte. Work great.
